AREA FORUM/WARD GRANTS
Matter for Consideration:
To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes.
Information:
The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community.

The Gateway Area Forum has requested £1,100 to donate to Queens Park Residents Association for a special "ASB Drop-In Event" at the Town Hall on 9th October 2013 and to fund advertising, marketing and promotional materials for the event.

Councillors Galley and Williams of Anchorsholme Ward have requested £1,300 as a donation towards the rent for Whiteholme Over 60's Social Club now based at St Teresa's Community Centre.



Councillors Mrs Greenhalgh and Hutton of Clifton Ward have requested:
(i) £2,295 for the purchase and installation of an alley gate at Radworth Crescent. The total amount includes £275 estimated advertising costs.
(ii) £5,205 for the purchase and installation of an alley gate at Rosedale Avenue. The total amount includes £275 estimated advertising costs.
(iii) £1,735 for the purchase and installation of an alley gate at Newhouse Road. The total amount includes £275 estimated advertising costs.

Councillors D Coleman and Elmes of Marton Ward have requested £2,950 for the purchase and installation of two alley gates at Suffolk Road. The total amount includes £275 estimated advertising costs.

Councillors Mrs Callow and Callow of Norbreck Ward have requested £675 for the purchase and installation of a tram shelter seat at Little Bispham south side tram stop platform.

Councillors Campbell and Doherty of Park Ward have requested:
(i) £9,000 to donate to David Slack Allotments to fund groundwork to prevent flooding and improve ease of access to the site.
(ii) £888 to donate to David Slack Allotments to purchase and install security wire to the existing fencing.

Councillor Mrs Henderson MBE (and former Councillor Maughan) of Highfield Ward have requested:
(i) £145.00 for the printing and purchase of 500 x Tennis Coaching Advertising Leaflets to advertise the Tennis Coaching Sessions at Highfield Park throughout the summer months
(ii) £200.00 for the provision of Tennis Coaching Sessions at Highfield Park throughout the summer months.
(This application was submitted while former Councillor Maughan was in office but could not be processed for approval due to the restrictions in place for this ward during the period prior to the recent by-election. New Councillor Hunter also supports the application).
